Electrolysis Definitions
|
Only electrolysis is the permanent removal of unwanted hair and approved by the Food & Drug Administration.
Electrolysis is accomplished by inserting a tiny disposable probe into each hair follicle. A small amount
of current is applied by my computerized epilator. The current eliminates the cells in the follicle that
cause the hair to grow. You will feel a sensation of heat and then I will lift the hair out with sterilized
tweezers. I am extremely fast and efficient and can do up to 800 hairs in one hour. My epilator counts the
number of hairs and I keep track of the progress on your client chart.

Depending on the area being treated, you may have to have more than one treatment. This is due to the fact
that some hairs are dormant or they are growing but haven’t reached the skin surface yet. (In other words,
not all the hairs you see are all the hairs you have.) Human beings have about 6 stands of hair that tend
to grow in as a group and there are 8 weeks in between the 6 stands. The hairs in these 6 stands are
progressively lighter, less numerous, and less coarse. Some people are satisfied with their results after
only treating 2-3 of these stands of hair. However, to be permanently free of hair in any one given area,
you have to treat all of the stands of hair. |
Your appointment can last anywhere from 10 minutes (for $10) to two hours depending on your desires. No
matter how long or short your appointment is, you always leave looking better, and feeling more confident.
